UTEC was visited by Peter Dourmashkin, a well-known professor from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) who conducted two very interesting workshops.

The first one was a hands on workshop of active learning in which he demonstrated the TEAL (Technology Enabled Active Learning) method he developed himself for MIT. In his second workshop which was called “Coding through Quipus”, he had participants remember what a quipu is, their relevance within the Inca culture, how it was made and what was it used for. Participants also had the chance to make their own quipu while they were taught the Inca coding techniques and how quipus were used to communicate

Foreign professor visits are very enriching not only because of the knowledge they share, but also because of the cultural exchange they represent
