Our purpose

Conduct cutting-edge scientific research with academic and social impact. We seek to be a benchmark in research, development and innovation (R&D&I) for Peru and Latin America.

Through our
Multidisciplinary Research Centers

Knowledge is produced and technological solutions are created to address environmental, economic and social challenges, promoting sustainable development and a more promising future.

  • Water Research and Technology Center - CITA

    Centro

The Water Research and Technology Center - CITA promotes, develops and disseminates research carried out in Peru on our rich natural resources. CITA seeks to become a reference center for the generation of scientific evidence on the multidisciplinary study and proper management of natural resources from social, political, environmental and economic perspectives. With this objective, CITA strengthens its capabilities through constant communication and collaboration with various internal and external academic and research entities.

  • Bioengineering Research Center - BIO

    Centro

Founded in October 2019, the Bioengineering Research Center (BIO) integrates the study of engineering, medicine, and biology to solve complex biomedical and industrial problems. BIO seeks to become a reference center for innovation in biomedical and biological systems engineering, using our abundant biological resources and biodiversity as tools to solve problems in human health, agribusiness, and other industries that use biological systems in their production processes.

  • Heritage Research and Conservation Center

    Centro

While studies in the sciences and humanities reveal how historical artifacts deteriorate over time, engineering innovation offers responsible technological solutions to preserve a country's heritage. The Heritage Conservation Research Center focuses on placing material heritage in a historical value chain by understanding, evaluating, conserving and socializing objects and sites. Our interdisciplinary work applies participatory management schemes in which society as a whole can be involved in the protection of its heritage.

  • Amazon Sustainability Research Institute - ASRI

    Centro

ASRI works to promote the conservation and resilience of the Amazon forest through multidisciplinary research and technological innovation. Its focus includes indigenous communities, sustainable value chains, and a comprehensive analysis of the Amazon ecosystem. The goal is to generate scientific knowledge, develop capacities, and disseminate key information to support informed decisions that drive sustainability.

  • Computational Sustainability Research Center - COMPSUST

    Centro

Created in June 2020, the Computational Sustainability Research Center (COMPSUST) identifies, promotes and provides computational solutions to problems related to balancing environmental, economic and social needs for sustainable development. As its core infrastructure, COMPSUST has an HPC cluster dedicated to high-performance computing to enable research that generates positive human and societal outcomes.

  • Center for Impact and Social Responsibility - CIRSO

    Centro

Created in 2020 to promote spaces for debate, research and social impact to address current issues, seeking to understand them in all their multidimensionality, overcoming traditional disciplinary barriers. CIRSO focuses specifically on: education and science dissemination, seeking to promote and disseminate the impact of science, technology and engineering on society; the relationship between society, science and technology, seeking to understand the participation of society in the management of STI policies; and university social responsibility, providing the parameters to promote projects and actions carried out that insert the social component.
